Stoughton, Saskatchewan.
Like many other Saskatchewan towns, there is some doubt about our name.
Some say it was named for the first chief dispatcher of the Canadian Pacific
Railway in Montreal, Quebec. While others say it was named for the conductor of the first
train that came through the village. Whatever the Origin, everyone agrees that the
railway named the town.It is fitting that Stoughton is at the end of the second longest straight
line of rail in the world. (You'd have to be in Australia to see the longest and
we're a lot closer!)
While exploring the Red Coat Trail Highway, a visit to Stoughton is a must.
We're at the junction of Highways 13, 33, & 47 in Saskatchewan, Canada.
